Description:
3.8.2011: Helga/Ilse: The types should be left as they currently are.

There is a need to simplify the choices of eprints types.

Some simplification has been done in connection with the eprints 3 upgrade. For instance, the journal types online journal and preprint have been removed, and the conference eprint types have been reduced to 2 (also discussed in Organic Eprints Issues/00073). The work tasks in relation to this are described in Organic Eprints Issues/00079.

NOTE

At some later time decide whether to merge report and book into one …
and whether to merge article and newsarticle into one …
Or give guidelines for when to use what!

  • perhaps just one paper entry with later choice between magazine and journal format?
  • perhaps just one ‘book’ entry with later choice between book, thesis (and thesis type?) and report (monograph?)?

Resulting namedsets/eprint types after eprint 3 upgrade:

article
newsarticle
workpaper
conference_item
submission
proceedings
report
reportchapter
book
bookchapter
thesis
web
researchprogramme
organization
project
facility
other
